Why We Run Together: Introducing the Recreo Run Club

At Recreo Rehab, we believe that movement is more than just physical — it’s a way of reconnecting with ourselves, building confidence, and finding community. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce something that’s been close to our hearts for a while now: the Recreo Run Club.

🏃‍♀️ What is the Recreo Run Club?

The Recreo Run Club is a weekly, all-levels run (or jog… or walk!) that starts from our clinic and loops through nearby trails and city streets. It's not a race, and it’s definitely not about pace — it’s about showing up, moving your body, and doing it together.

We know how intimidating traditional running groups can feel. You don’t have to be fast, experienced, or “fit” — if you’ve got a pair of shoes and the willingness to try, you’re in.

💡 Why a Run Club?

Recreo means “to restore” or “to create anew.” Our run club is exactly that: a chance to recreate your relationship with movement in a way that feels sustainable, welcoming, and judgment-free.

We’ve seen firsthand how movement, especially in community, can:

  • Reduce stress and anxiety

  • Improve confidence in injured or cautious movers

  • Build social connection (and friendships!)

  • Support healthy routines outside the treatment room

Plus, there’s something powerful about starting your weekend or winding down your week with a little sweat and a lot of encouragement.

📍 When & Where

  • Day/Time: Select Sunday Mornings @9am

    • here are our upcoming 2025 dates: June 22, July 6, July 20, August 3, August 17, Sept 7, Sept 21, Oct 5, Oct 19

  • Location: We meet at Recreo Rehab (161 Eglinton Ave E., the SE corner of Redpath and Eglinton)

  • Pace: All paces welcome — no one gets left behind.

Each run includes a short warm-up and cool-down, and often ends with a hangout at a local café or sponsor partner. If you're returning to running after injury or are looking to move with intention, you’re in good hands.
